A brief recap of the previous chapter
In Chapter 145 of Chainsaw Man, titled “Kumbaya,” the public safety departments finally get the Chainsaw Man church and its members under control. Asa Mitaka, the organization’s poster girl, has been the top priority in the effort to capture the Chainsaw Church and its various branches.
Also in prison is Barem Bridge, the second in command of the Chainsaw Man’s cult. Many ex-devils have started working for them, including the Bow and Katana man, and so they ask him to join their Public Safety division.
Troubles
He says he needs a moment to look at the sunset because it’s the nicest time of the year, but Barem Bridge seems strange. When she hears that members of the Chainsaw Church are wreaking havoc in the region, she heads over to Asa’s place to watch the news and learns that the devil’s hunters are on their way to put a stop to it.
This comes as a shock to Asa, but she can’t dwell on it for long since there’s a knock at the door. And the voice orders her to lie down with her arms crossed. Rather coolly, Asa tells the war devil that she is prepared for such an eventuality.
The war devil approves of her plan to turn her chamber into a weapon. The door bursts open just as she’s about to turn her chamber into a sword. Yoshida is the one who finally makes the decisive cut to Asa’s right shape.
