A brief recap of the previous chapter
In the previous chapter of Dungeon Odyssey, Kim asks if that’s the case because they’ve reverted to where they were before the conflict, and she confirms that this is the case in terms of their military strength. The chapter progresses to reveal that when the Black Merchant Group released the Naha Labyrinth information to Valicious, they came to offer her intelligence on the military strength of the necromancer king.
Giving them Valicious while he was still alive and the center of the maze of death was the price to pay. Thanks to Rikshasha’s restraint, Kim was able to fulfill his part of the contract. But in the end, nobody benefited from the arrangement.
Revenge
Kim has gained nearly nothing from the conflict because all units from the Labyrinth of Festivals and many Nagas perished. Kim tells him he must be content with the fact that they cleaned up the area around their maze. When Hoya presses him on whether or not he believes it will be safe to hand up the Necromancer King, he answers in the affirmative.
However, Kim probes further, asking if she is anxious. This is because she has not forgotten what the Necromancer King promised her: a chance for vengeance. Kim, though, assures them that everything is going to be OK and that they can move on to the next difficulty because the Black Merchant Group holds all of Gyser in the palm of their hands.
In this way, he explains that the neighboring labyrinth on the ninth floor… Simultaneously, word gets out that Rikshasha has been roused from his slumber.
