A brief recap of the previous chapter
In the previous chapter of Wishing For Luck, as the story progresses, we learn that when she was changing her clothes following a minor accident in the store, an elderly lady walked up to her and asked if she knew the location of a nearby dumping business.
She then begins gazing at her phone, implying that she has seen something, before saying it. The elderly lady tells her that she was born with a lot of bad luck and that someone must be sick in her house while she is still looking for it. When she inquires as to what is wrong, the elderly woman replies that the blockage of her wealth is due to the anger of her ancestors.

When she later asks for advice, the woman assures her that she need not be concerned, as the arrival of a noble person into her life will soon be the catalyst for the aforementioned shattering of the barrier.
At the same time, though, she gets a notification that there is an unclaimed parcel in her name, and she must click the provided link to get it. After she taps it, she sees a notification that says her bank account is now empty.
As the narrative progresses, she explains that she has no money to pay rent this month after losing her part-time job and having her bank account wiped out. She anticipates giving this some thought tomorrow.
