A brief recap of the previous chapter
Cale, Muller, Dragon, and his cats all make it to Cale’s tent in the previous chapter of Trash of the Count’s Family, when Cale reveals his plans to Muller. He promises Muller a place to stay and something to eat in exchange for his labor. Cale tells Muller to draw up plans for a ship and a castle when the latter asks what he can do for him.
He has faith in Muller’s ability to accomplish this because of his skill as an architect. Cale advises Muller to use the golden turtle as inspiration and build a castle as large as the mage’s tower when Muller asks if he has any plans.

Cale dismisses Muller and has On and Hong keep an eye on him while he works. Along with the promise of freedom, once Muller’s labor is complete, he gives him a treasure to encourage him to succeed. Bilose gives Cale a copy of the contract the following day, and Cale is impressed that he and Harole were able to negotiate it all in a single day.
In addition to requiring Cale to demolish the tower within a year, Harole inserted two further provisions into the contract totaling a little over 10 billion. The first was to not relocate the tower, and the second was to not organize magi in Cale’s name.
