Netflix is all set to release an upcoming American fantasy film named, ‘Damsel’. Millie Bobby Brown and Angela Bassett will be seen in the movie playing characters of Princess Elodie and Lady Bayford. Juan Carlos Fresnadillo has directed the movie, whereas Larry Fong has provided the screenplay. Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum have produced the movie, whereas PMCA Productions and Roth/Kirschenbaum Film are the production companies involved. Damsel Movie Release Date on Netflix

Netflix released the official trailer of the movie on their platform and YouTube on 26 April 2023. 95 thousand plus people have watched the trailer on Youtube alone. The expectation of it to reach an even higher audience is high before the official movie release.

13 October 2023 was the Damsel movie release date before it got postponed. The SAG-AFTRA strike has postponed the release date of the movie, but they will announce the new date soon.

Plot of the movie 

A dutiful damsel agrees to marry a handsome prince, only to discover it was all a trap: the royal family recruited her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt. She is then thrown into a cave with a fire-breathing dragon, having to solely rely on her wits and will to survive.

Production and Development

They first announced the movie Damsel in March 2020. They gave Millie Bobby Brown the character of Princess Elodie in November 2020 and also appointed her as the executive producer. The makers estimated the movie’s budget to be around 60-70 million dollars. In February 2022, the actual shooting of the movie began. Till July 2022, the majority of the shooting ended in Tomar, Portugal.
