Netflix is all set to release an upcoming American crime based thriller movie named, ‘Pain Hustlers’ on their platform. Evan Hughes has written the book named, ‘Pain Hustlers’ and the movie is based on the same book. David Yates has directed the movie, whereas Wells Tower has provided the screenplay for the movie. Lawrence Grey along with David Yates have produced the film. Grey Matter Productions and Wychwood Pictures are the production companies involved in the movie. The makers of the movie released the official trailer on Netflix official site and Youtube on 10 October 2023. 6.5 million plus people have watched the trailer on Youtube since day 1. The expectations of it reaching an even higher audience is high because of the popularity of the cast.

They did the world premier of the movie during the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2023. In the United States, the movie will be released on 20 October before getting a worldwide release on Netflix.

Plot of the Movie

The story of the movie revolves around a young girl named Liza Drake. After dropping out from high school, Liza joined a failing pharmaceutical start-up. Also, the pharmaceutical business is set up at a yellowing strip mall in Central Florida. Soon Liza finds herself a part of a criminal conspiracy, which has some deadly consequences. 

This is Netflix’s brief introduction about the movie: ‘A broke but ambitious single mom lands a lucrative opportunity in pharma sales, but how far will she go to turn a potent new painkiller into a success’?

Sony Pictures unofficially announced the movie in May 2021. The makers set up a 50 million dollars deal with Netflix to give the distribution rights of the movie in 2022.
