Baldur’s Gate 3 Gameplay

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a video game where you can play alone or with others. You can make your own characters and join a group with other characters in the game. If you want, you can also play together online with other people. In this game, combat happens in turns, which means each character takes a turn to do something. This is similar to other games made by Larian, such as Divinity: Original Sin and Divinity: Original Sin II. The combat in Baldur’s Gate 3 follows the rules of Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Plot

The game’s setting is in 1492 DR, more than 120 years after the previous game, Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn, and several months after the playable Dungeons & Dragons 5e module, Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus. It has a flexible plot where the main story remains mostly unchanged, regardless of player choices, but with significant variation in the details, especially in the side quests. Players can create an original character or choose from six pre-made characters, each with their own unique quests. The characters play similarly except for certain paths and play styles.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Developing and Publishing

BioWare and Black Isle Studios created the original Baldur’s Gate game and Interplay Entertainment released it in 1998. It used the Dungeons & Dragons rule set in the Forgotten Realms world. The game’s success spawned a sequel, Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn, and related titles like Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment, and Neverwinter Nights. Interplay faced financial problems in 2003 and had to cancel the planned sequel, Baldur’s Gate III: The Black Hound. In 2008, Atari obtained the license for making D&D video games. The new sequel by Larian Studios is not connected to the cancelled Baldur’s Gate III: The Black Hound.
