Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition is a 2022 video game developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It serves as a sequel to 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn and is set in a post-apocalyptic Western United States. The player can explore the open world, complete quests, and fight machine creatures using various weapons. The game has received positive reviews and sold over 8.4 million units as of April 2023. They released an expansion titled Burning Shores for the PlayStation 5 version in April 2023.
Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition Release Date
They revealed Horizon Forbidden West for PlayStation 5 in June 2020 and planned its release for 2021. Due to the pandemic, development delays shifted the release to February 18, 2022. The game reached the production stage in January 2022.
Also Upgrades from PS4 to PS5 are available at no extra cost. The PS4 version has two Blu-ray discs totaling 97 GB, while the PS5 version comes on one Ultra HD Blu-ray disc, 98 GB in size.
They published a comic book sequel in August 2020 and released an EP titled “The Isle of Spires” in June 2021.Singer Nathy Peluso also released a single inspired by the game in February 2022.
They also announced the expansion “Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition and it will exclusively released it for PS5 on October 6, 2023. It will be available in PC In Early 2024.

Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition Gameplay
Basically in Horizon Forbidden West, you play as Aloy, a hunter in a world where dangerous machines roam. Aloy explores the Forbidden West, a post-apocalyptic version of the Western United States (California, Nevada, and Utah), from a third-person perspective in the game. The game world is larger than in the previous game, and you can now explore underwater areas. There are also improvements to combat, including the Valor Surge system, and you have new tools like the Shieldwing, Focus Scanner, Diving Mask, and Pullcaster. They have improved the mission structure for quests to offer more variety in objectives and implement better reward systems.

Guerrilla Games began working on Horizon Forbidden West in 2018, one year after releasing Horizon Zero Dawn. Sony Interactive Entertainment published it for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Mathijs de Jonge is the director and Benjamin McCaw is the narrative director. Sony documents show that the development took five years, involved over 300 full-time employees, and cost around US$212 million, making it one of the most costly video games to produce.
