A brief recap of the previous chapter
In the previous chapter of Call of the Night, Nazuna surprised Kou by dressing up as Santa Claus for Christmas, and he even complimented her on the outfit. She informed him that she was attractive in any outfit.
Nazuna explained that Christmas was all about giving gifts to one another, and she inquired as to whether or not Kou had received anything from his mother. Kou explained that she was not in the gift-giving mood and questioned why he should receive anything from her.
Gift
Nazuna found it humorous, but she was more concerned about what he might give her as a gift. Kou acted as if he had forgotten to bring a gift for his girlfriend and showed up at her house empty-handed. Since she knew Kou rarely had much cash on hand, she decided to ask him to foot the bill for her drinks afterward. Kou, however, unwrapped the surprise he had brought. Nazuna expressed gratitude to him for the gift.

Nazuna made sure to get his blessing before receiving the Christmas present Kou gave her. Kou informed Nazuna that he had brought the disposable camera so they could shoot pictures together, but the camera only had 38 frames.
He reasoned that they could fill the frame with some memorable snapshots. Given his meager resources, that was all he could accomplish. Nazuna did not appear to be overjoyed.
Kou inquired of Nazuna whether or not she recalled his earlier declaration of interest in extensive travel. Nazuna confirmed that she did recall their talk; Kou said that he would lose all memory of it once he turned into a vampire and hence wished to memorialize it through photography.
