Olajide Olayinka Williams “JJ” Olatunji, popularly known as KSI is currently one of the most trending entertainers. A Youtuber, professional rapper, professional boxer, KSI has been into multiple professions for a long time. Co-founder of Prime Hydration, KSI started an energy drink brand along with his youtuber friend Logan Paul. On youtube, KSI has over 40 million followers and over 10 billion views overall. Since 2009, KSI has been into making videos on youtube and today, he is one of the richest youtubers around the world.
KSI’s Life Overview
Born on 19 June 1993, Olajide is the elder brother of Deji, who is also a youtuber. Olajide was born in London and grew up in Watford, Hertfordshire. Olajide and his family belong to a Yoruba ethnic group. His mother’s name is Yinka Atinuke, who belongs to Islington, London. Olajide attended Berkhamsted School in Berkhamsted and there he became friends with Sideman’s Simon Minster. Olajide’s brother, who is also a YouTuber, ranked 1st and 2nd respectively in 2015 as one of the UK’s most influential YouTubers.
Youtube Career
Olajide, when was in his teens started a youtube channel named JudeJunior. The current youtube channel of Olajide was formed on 24 July 2009, which was named as ‘KSI Olajide BT’. KSI, used to make videos of commentary of FIFA video games. The KSI stands for Knowledge Strength and Integrity.
In 2013, KSI became part of Sidemen, a youtube group and for this he signed with Maker Studios. Sidemen is a group that creates videos, basically related to challenges, sketches and video game commentary. He also released his biography, initially in the UK and eventually in the USA and other places.
KSI in a tweet mentioned that he will be leaving Sidemen, due to the conflicts between him and other members. Later, he released a diss track criticizing his fellow members of the Sidemen group, and they responded to it.

Music Career
KSI’s debut single song was Lamborghini, which featured British grime main character P Money. It was released on 23 March 2015, and it was ranked 30th in the UK Singles Chart. He started focusing more on music and released many songs later on. Songs like ‘Creature’, ‘Uncontrollable’, ‘On Point’, ‘New Age’ and others were released by KSI between 2017 to 2019.
He announced that he has signed Yxng Dave to the Online Takeover along with Proper Loud. He did a massive collaboration with Anne Marie on Don’t Play, after he signed with Atlantic Records. His song ‘Not Over Yet’, which featured Tom Grennan, ranked 4th in the UK Singles Chart.
KSI’s Boxing Career
When things got worse between KSI and another British youtuber Joe Weller, they announced that they will be having an amateur boxing match in 2018. KSI won the fight in the third round by technical knockout, but he showed his respect for Weller.
Later, he fought against well known youtuber and entertainer Logan Paul in another amateur boxing match. The match was drawn and therefore, no results were declared. Both him and Logan fought another fight, but as professional boxers, where KSI won by judges decision in 2019.
He had multiple exhibition bouts with many boxers and entertainers like Swarmz and Alcaraz Pineda, Temperrr, Fournier, Fury and others. He also launched a boxing promotion company named Misfits Boxing and DAZN. It is popularly known as MF & DAZN and they signed a 5 year deal with Pay-per-view for distribution.
Controversies
KSI has been into multiple controversies since he has gained popularity. The allegations on him were related to sexual harassment, use of transgender slur, use of racial slur and others. As a result his contract with Microsoft was cancelled and also he was banned from Eurogamer events.
